10 months!

Yup-the little booger is now ten months old...doesn't seem like he should be. We have started sleep-training and he gets an hour nap every day and now we are sleeping more at night! We are still getting up once a night for a bottle but its better than him getting up 3-4 times to eat plus having 4:30 as him wake up time! He's weighing about 23-25 pounds now, has to be about 33 inches long and has almost grown completely out of 12 month clothing! He is very busy trying to walk and uses his walker daily now! He's turning it and almost making a run for it! We have 5 teeth and currently working on 6-8. He has fallen in love with Chicken, pork chops and hamburgers so he's gonna be a huge meat eater- but he still loves his chicken nuggets and french fries from Aunt Rachel when we go to visit her at work:)

The Thanksgiving Aftermath

Well, we made it- I feel like I have gained 10 pounds and while I am on a diet- that isn't very good...LOL... WE had a GREAT Thanksgiving! On the actual day, Jerry had to work, but Logan and I went to mom's and watched the parade- he was clapping when Po(kung fu panda) came on...then came in Jon and JR and then JR would clap and be excited when his favorite characters came on...I complained because all the singers were singing their songs and not a Christmas song( something I remember them doing when I was a little kid) well, when lunch was served Logan had passed out so I actually got to eat! Naw- he fought a nap until he couldn't fight no more and slept for 3 hours! We went home and got Jerry ready for work and then headed back to moms so Logan could eat- and eat he did! I think it was 5 plates of turkey and zipper peas! plus some chocolate cake. Go to next day which is Black Friday- no we didn't shop but I took on the idea of making dinner for everyone at my house- got up and stuck the turkey in the oven, made green bean casserole, mac and cheese, creamed corn, had 2 pies(cookies and cream and pecan) mom made jerrys cornbread stuffing with gravy and I had rolls. It was a good meal! everyone fit at the table and I think the headcount turn up to be 9? We had Jerry, Me and Logan, Granny(jerry) mom and dad, Jake and Emily and Rachel. Most went back for seconds and Jake actually ate some turkey which I think was out of kindness because he HATES turkey! Today we are just relaxing, Logan's napping and Jerry is playing video games- I am recuperating after eating like a fat kid for the past two days....not good when you've been trying to diet. Later we are going to Moms house to watch two MAJOR football games- Alabama/Auburn and Florida Gators (my team) versus the Florida State Team (Jerry's family team!) We shall see!!!!!

Pre-Thanksgiving....and the trees already up

we have 3 days left before Thanksgiving....and our Christmas tree got put up yesterday! I swear, Jerry has changed A LOT since Logan was born. Last year, he couldn't have cared less about the tree and now this year, I was told to put it up BEFORE Thanksgiving! The tree is decorated and my little Christmas village is up on the counter. I get my nativity scene on Wednesday and then that will be set up. I have window clings, door wreath, lights to go outside(surprisingly allowed in apt complex!) and Logans first stocking is HUNG!!!! Thanksgiving, we are tackling a new thing as well....I am cooking my first Thanksgiving dinner. It will be on Friday because we found out Jerry is working on Thanksgiving....We are having Mom, Dad and Granny come (as well as Jake and Emily if they want.) and we are having dinner here. I'm a little nervous because I have NEVER made a turkey before but I am excited to start our family traditions. It's Logan's first EVERYTHING, so we are really outdoing ourselves to make this really special! And so far I am exhausted...but I cannot wait to see his face on Christmas- I know that he won't really know what will be going on but I am so happy!

Fall Festivals and The Croup

With Halloween being right around the corner, I have been trying to find things to do with Logan that will be fun for both of us. We did a pumpkin patch with Jon and JR last week(pics to follow) where the dads(Jon and Jerry) carved pumpkins and the kids and I watched. Then last night was the Great Pumpkin Escape in downtown Starke so I dressed Logan up, he's a lion:) and went with Emily in tow to get our loot of candy and treats! But this week hasn't been all fun....Thursday, we found out Logan had a cold, which was to be expected with the weather changing- however, it turned out to not be a cold:( Thursday night, we went to bed as usual. Jerry stayed up and since Logan was congested, we put him in bed with me until he fell asleep and then put him in the crib. Well, he woke up an hour later and Jerry grabbed him and he was having some problems breathing---we suctioned out his nose and gave him a few minutes while I googled some ideas of what he has- that's when the seal like bark cough and wheezing type sound started happening and the shaking...so we took him to Shands Pediatric at UF again and they found out he had croup along with 102.7 temperature. He has been on steroids for the past three days and we did motrin this morning for a fever...he's doing a lot better and we haven't had any distress since that night. He's back to being his normal self with the exception of a slight cough and runny nose.
Luckily, he decided to do this stuff when Jerry had the week off....I get too paranoid with Logan when Jerry is at work.
Logan and Daddy with their pumpkin

The Big Pumpkins

Logans Pumpkin

JR and Logan with their Pumpkins

JR 4 years old
Yesterday was mom's birthday- so we packed up and headed over there! I made a cake and a homemade streamer that had to be about 4 feet long----it was ice cream cones with the letters spelling HAPPY BIRTHDAY on them....a pinterest idea:)

Crawling, Standing, Learning to Walk and Babysitting

Logan is crawling just about EVERYWHERE! We have blocked the stairs because he is determined to try to get up them. He's standing up in the playpen and when I get him out of his crib in the morning he is there standing with a smile on his face:) He just started standing on his knees and before too long he will be standing without holding on to anything....He has let go of the playpen and the couch when he stands up, he only lasts a second though before he falls down though-this is something I AM NOT PUSHING! I am however, trying to get him to start holding his own bottle again. We have tricked him with the sippy cup, he loves that thing, and from time to time, I will put his formula in that and he'll drink it.
Walking- when I hold his hands and he's facing me, he will try to walk to me. We have also re-arranged his room a bit and have decided that after Christmas, I am going to redo his room....The monkeys will still be a major part of the theme, but I found cute bedding with monkeys flying planes and driving cars. His theme will be transporation(planes, trains and cars) with monkeys. At Walmart there is peel and stick wall decor for 10 dollars....of clouds, airplanes, cars, and monkeys....I am going to get some of them and decorate his room. they are "guaranteed" not to ruin the walls...and I am putting my trust in it...lol

 Onto babysitting,
My friend Amanda got a job at Walmart and needed someone to keep her 1 1/2 year old daughter Emma a few days a week...I gladly accepted the challenge and come to find out, it's not really a challenge. Logan and Emma get along well for the most part. I didn't expect that I would have to be telling Logan to be nicer to Emma, I thought it would be the other way around...the only time there is conflict is when Emma wakes up from her nap and is very clingy- Logan slept the same time as her and it was a challenge to change both of their diapers with them both being attached to me. Luckily Jerry was home that day so even with Emma crying, he held her and comforted her until I was done with Logan.
We have postponed our honeymoon trip until after Christmas. It seemed every weekend we planned, something came up. This time, Grandma Janice is having a procedure done and Mom is going to help out for a few days. And by the time we started figuring out other dates, we were getting into Thanksgiving and Christmas...It is easy to plan with Jerry being off every other weekend but the weekends just got scrambled with other things, so we figured tax season, we will go for a couple days and leave Logan with mom....before then, she will have him for one night. I need to start training him on this, well train me for this. I can't go more than a couple hours... wonder how I will do for a whole night?!

8 months old

Yeah- Monkey is 8 months old(on the 25th)....He started crawling yesterday, pulling himself up on things and he's more vocal than ever!!!! Kate just posted that Aidan turned five- but I swear yesterday, I went to see him in the hospital after being born! With as fast as he has grown, mine is growing just as fast and its scary!
We now have 2 teeth on the bottom and now we are working on the 2 teeth on top as of last night...Tuesday afternoon, Logan decided he was going to start crawling, and really standing up in his crib. Today, I grabbed his hands and stood him up and he proceeded to take 4 steps while I was holding him, though he wants so badly for me to let go of his hands. Now we are enjoying vanilla wafers while waiting for grandma Karen to get back from grocery shopping. He's more vocal now, and is weighing in at 21 pounds. Eating strictly table food now, he absolutely HATES baby food, and if it comes in a jar that even resembles the baby food, he will not eat it! Which is why, for some meals he lives on cookies and baby puffs....or chicken nuggets, as I have found are his favorite right now.

Wedding Reception!!!!!!

We had an amazing time this weekend celebrating our Wedding:) Alot of family and friends showed up and there was food, cake, dancing, laughing and even Logan getting in on the cake and eating away. We have a ton of pictures, which will be put up eventually lol...Now we are just relaxing and getting back to our routines and I am getting back to my diet...which I completely blew this weekend, but it was well worth it! A huge thanks to my mom and dad for setting everything up. Now I know how much work goes into a party and I'm getting started on Logans birthday party already.

7 months:)

Ok, so technically he wont be 7 months until the 25th, but who cares? lol.... Logan's weighing in at around 22 pounds...and this past week we went on our first day trip with Rachel:) we went to Orlando to see Shelby who just acted like the hospital was going to be her "disneyworld" for a few days....She needed some cheering up so off we went to take Logan to her-I had been sending "get well pics" of him to her since she was admitted I believe anywhere from once to three times a day...but she was ALL SMILES when he was in her room playing:) We hung out with the boys for a while at the Orland Science Center where Logan fell in love with the dinosaur section and then made our way back to the hospital to see some family and make sure Shelby knew that she needed to go home cuz that room was too small to put all of us in there. We headed back home and Sunday was the first time I took Logan to church! He did amazing but I was the one in the sanctuary waiting for our nursery number to pop up instead of listening to the preacher....then Sunday night/Monday morning we started getting diarrhea, nothing big, he's teething and did it with the last tooth so I was thinking he'd be getting another one soon- however he went all week and calling his doctor, they told us to do the BRAT diet which is Bananas, Rice, Applesauce and Toast....well, Logan isn't able to eat toast, I don't give him apples and rice cereal upsets his stomach so we finally realized that he eats fresh bananas but not jar ones so I bought a bunch of bananas and fed him those as well as normal food- we stuck to just veggies until diarrhea was over...however-Friday he started getting fevers, though not very bad ones, regular low-grade you would get with teething, he got one around 9am then 1pm and then 6pm....I told Jerry if he gets one more fever I would be considering taking him to the dr because diarrhea had been going on for about a week and now fevers...well he made our minds up when he woke up and had another fever but felt different than the others, checking his temperature, we found it to be 102.3....so getting dressed we go to UF/Shands Pediatric Hospital and check him in- the doctor weighs him and checks his temp again, 101.8, it went down but was still a little worrysome because this child NEVER gets sick. They put us in a triage room and we are focused on Logan but also admiring the decor of the hospital. Completely themed to Finding Nemo and underwater images, the doors have circular windows that would be found on a ship, waves on the walls and the ceiling tiles have been painted by nurses and doctors in the theme of finding nemo...so the doctors come in to evaluate Logan and decide to take a urine sample from him, well he peed in the emergency room so there wasnt any chance of collecting so they try to do a catheter.....not fun, I was told to be the comforter for when everything was over and Jerry was gonna help hold Logan with the 2 nurses....Logan was crying pretty badly and kept looking over my way and when it was over, he was happy to have mommy back....they take it back to get results back and we sit there waiting for about 1 1/2 hours, by then, his fever has completely broken, hes eating and playing around...they come back in around 3am to tell us everything is normal, keep doing what we are doing and its either a viral bug or teething but with no "major" symptoms, they can't really tell us anything...so we pack up and go home, where Logan pukes formula ALL OVER me....and Jerry and I begin to take shifts on sleeping to keep an eye on him. Yesterday was better, he was pretty fussy and clingy but fevers weren't as bad. About 3pm, he decided to stop having fevers so we fed him some formula(no puking this time) and go to my parents house...we get home around 9:30 and hes really fussy...so tired from not sleeping these past couple of days finally caught up to him and he just cried and cried and cried. Didn't have a fever or anything so we fed him formula again and tried to get him to calm down enough to sleep. After about 30 minutes of continuous crying, I changed my rocking position to a very odd way and he fell right asleep. Not knowing how long the sleep would last, I tell Jerry(who stays up til 330) that I'm putting him in the bed with me until you come upstairs....he's ok with it since Logan's been sick and there Logan and I fell fast asleep til 530 when he decides its feeding/pooping and playing time...lol... no more fevers and drinking formula....he's been on water for two days and we introduced pedialyte(Which he absolutely HATES grape) so that bottle of milk really made him happy and full enough to sleep:) Now we are (he is) napping on the couch next to me. As long as I am in his sights he does fine....even started talking and smiling/laughing again:) Hopefully this doesnt happen again anytime soon and the ER visit will hopefully never happen again....

6 months:)

Well,
Logan is 6 months old...hes saying DaDa, trying to crawl, eating a lot, sleeping through the night and just being a very happy and energetic little boy. We went to the doctors yesterday for his 6m checkup= he weighs in at 19lbs 9.5oz, 28 inches long....lol...has a tooth coming in so we were told to introduce him to a toothbrush by gently rubbing the tooth(its halfway in) with water only....also, he had to get shots:( 3in the leg and one oral medicine...the boy was not happy and with him being like he is, another nurse had to come in and hold him down...luckily, his next appointment will have no shots-just a wellness checkup...he did fine up until 3:30 this morning where he was running a pretty good fever, but after some tylenol and me and him laying on the couch watching blues clues, he went back to sleep but was up and fussy every 20-30 minutes because his legs were sore and uncomfortable-  I was up all night rubbing his legs so that he'd actually sleep a little...one of the shots bruised his little leg too:( his fevers are gone but so is his appetite which is rare, but understandable. all he's really wanted today is bottles- he doesn't want to eat food, be put down or left alone. So I have had him on my hip all day....
And we are also saving for his Christmas/1st Birthday which really shouldn't be so close to being here, but it is...and you know he wasn't planned with him being born exactly 1 month after Christmas...lol... we are putting back 10-20 every paycheck and start finding deals and sales now so we aren't rushing and looking for money when these events are here... Can't believe it's almost here- 6 months have already flown by...............................

Being Frugal

Everyone by now has had to cut back in one way or another to keep ends meeting....well between bills, gas, food, and formula for Logan(which is 15.00 a can!), we usually just barely make the mark.
So, with that being said- I've started couponing and sale watching....I used to think it was a waste of time and I had enough money to do that and whatever else I wanted..boy was I wrong! So I started grabbing the Sunday papers, clipping the coupons we would use for the shopping trip and go on- I usually go shopping once a month, which means we have to stockpile groceries so we save money-I did pretty good my first time around, I matched the coupons with the sales going on for the week I was going, made sure to buy what wasn't on sale at the cheaper place and this is how I did=
Walmart-
total was 117.63
I came out at 100.99
Winn Dixie-
327.98
came out-212.43- Granted Winn Dixie does fuel perks so they do alot of b1g1f and I will gladly take it! I buy alot of baby food and diapers at winndixie because for every 25$ I spend there I get 10c off every gallon of gas(20gal max) - well this shopping trip put me at 2.05 off per gallon? and gas is 3.38 up here so I will be saving money and only pay 1.33 at the pump:)

In the end I spent 313.42. Jerry nearly freaked when I told him the price until I started hauling in the groceries and handed him the receipts to see for himself... he said I spent a little much, but so far we haven't had to go to the store for anything extra for lunches/dinners!

Catching Up

Well- times moving faster and faster now....Logan's six months old, we've been married for about 2 weeks now and Jerry started his 12 hour shifts...
1)- Logan's six months old- eating about the same- 2 jars a food each lunch and dinner, plus bottles...he's still waking up in the middle of the night to eat but now we are down to one feeding at 4:30-5am. He's gotten to where he can sit up on his own for longer periods of time. he's also turning around when he's on his tummy, sleeping and when he's in the walker. We are still in love with blues clues and last week granma and granpa bought Logan his own little blue:) and lets just say we havent gone to bed, to the store or anywhere without blue. He's ranging from 6mth-12mth clothing depending on the brand which is kind of hard to buy since I never know which brand hes bigger in or not...lol.
 2) Married life is amazing- honestly, Jerry and I haven't fought as much since we got married, so it really was the nerves of everything keeping us on edge. We are both very happy and just anxiously awaiting the little reception we are going to have later on this year.
 3) Jerry's 12 hr shifts are lonely, I will say that. However for six to eight of those hours, Logan and I are sleeping so it's not as bad anymore. What is really bad is that he has the EXACT OPPOSITE of my uncle Bert...lol. I knew it would happen. I do love having him every other weekend to just have fun. 3 whole day of non work bull crap:) He also gets to spend more time with me and Logan which was what we both wanted.
Now for the real update- a couple weeks ago(right after we got married) Jerrys grandpa got into a small wreck with my truck...Papa is ok, however, the insurance company claimed my truck as totaled...so we are on the hunt for a new(new to us) vehicle. I have suddenly fallen in love with the Toyota Matrix. Not really big, not really small but slightly bigger than the corolla and definitely bigger than the truck was. Honestly, as long as I can fit both the stroller and groceries in the car, I am a happy woman. lol....

7-2-12...And the two shall become one

The day went off without a hitch...we arranged for everyone to be at the courthouse by 11- as usual, the bride is the last one there, the first one there who arrived about 30 minutes early- was Jerry LOL....We even got to get married outside:) We both smiled the whole time and I started giggling during my vows- I didn't see any crying from Mom or Granny- but just because I didn't see it doesn't mean it didn't happen....here are a few pictures from the wedding- Leah is making me a disk and I will put one of Jerry and Granny up here when I get it- that and a few more are the only ones I'm missing...

Goodbye single life, hello married life...

well, technically I am saying goodbye to single life even though I haven't seen myself as single for about 3 years now...lol. Tomorrow Jerry and I take a huge step forward in our relationship(but seriously, whats bigger than becoming parents?) and become husband and wife. I have been waiting for this day to come since I was about 3 years old...dressing up and asking for a hubband- well, I got what I asked for! I cannot see my life any way else that how it is right now...I am just excited and nervous and anxious and happy all at the same time!

Father's Day

So, Jerry's first Father's Day-

He will never read this and I pray to God y'all will never tell him I posted this, but for his first daddy day I had Jake make a video of Logan's first few months with the song "with arms wide open" by creed playing in the background..needless to say, parenthood makes you more sentimental and due to emotional reasons, I couldn't watch Jerry watch the video- however, In jerry's fashion- anything I do that makes him the least bit teary-eyed, I am usually called a name followed by a smile and sniffles!
This particular occasion, he sniffled at the top of the stairs, came down, looked at me with red eyes, called me an asshole(LOL I KNOW I AM!) and smiled really big while leaning down to kiss me and Logan...Granted this man NEVER CRIES- however, sometimes it's nice to know- he really cares about me and Logan.
I don't think anyone can deny the fact that Jerry and I are a perfect match- in ways, I see my parents relationship in us(yet not so publicly affectionate as they are)...I never once thought my parents were getting a divorce, though I have seen my fair share of arguments from them, they never went to bed angry, always woke up with love in their eyes, and did everything in their power to provide for six kids- I hope that mine and Jerry's relationship and parenting reflects at least half of what my parents did....

1 week to go/ Logan's 5 months old!

ok- so two posts in one!....here we go.

There is exactly 1 week left before I become Mrs. Jerry Wilkison...nerves are setting in for the both of us, but we are ready to take the "plunge"...lol. Going dress shopping with mom in the morning(Jerry's going too so he can find a new outfit) getting the marriage license on Tuesday and then hopefully monday(the 2nd of July) we will be husband and wife:) CAN'T WAIT

2nd post-
Logan is 5 months old now...eating 2 jars at a time for lunch and dinner- we just started meats because we weren't getting full enough and now we are going to be switching to second stage fruits and veggies to have more filling and thickness to meals...lol. He's about 18-19 pounds now and he's sitting himself up pretty good. He's also putting himself to sleep more however still waking up in the middle of the night to eat. He loves his feet and I even saw him put his toe in his mouth the other day! We made our first trip to the flea market with him today with our friends Leah and Donnie and their 8mth old Madison....where mommy was graciously given a funnel cake by Jerry- I have seriously complained and craved one since I became pregnant lol. He is getting very big and for some reason, he is starting to remind me of Jake when he was little(or what I can remember) Now we are hooked on Blues Clues and he smiles everytime they sing a song...he also laughs when Blue barks and "talks"...Like I said he's putting away two 5oz jars of food each for lunch and dinner, along with a bottle an hour later which ranges from 4oz to 6oz depending on how he acts. I'm actually watching him right now, I gave him a bath and he fell asleep around 8:30, woke up at 9 crying but woke up so I sat him up with me and we played, he got quiet so I decided to start this blog- 2 seconds ago I looked and he had put himself back to sleep. He's growing up on me too fast. I went through moms iphone pictures today and when I went through all the very new pictures of him that she took right after he was born- I held it in but it made me want to cry...he's so much bigger and smarter.....

4 months

So Logan is four months old now.... where has the time gone? He's still my little baby but he's a BIG baby...lol...went to the doctor last tuesday(ironically the day before my birthday) and had his 4mth checkup which came with 2 shots. 27 inches long, 16pds and 11oz...definitely a large baby. He did fine during shots and throughout the day. Naturally, he cried when he got the shots, but a rare occasion was that Daddy(Jerry) went with us and with me hating needles, I was in the corner- we lay Logan on the table because he has a tendency to kick and it's easier for the nurse to hold his leg like she needs to. Well, Jerry stood by the table the entire time and when it was over, he scooped Logan up and comforted him...we left the drs, went to get infant tylenol and then home where we waited for his response to the shots...didn't really have one until 4am when he had to be close to me. By six, he was wide awake but cranky...since it was my birthday, I was happy regardless. I went and fed him like I normally would, he felt warm, but he was in a sleeper so I didn't think anything of it...went to rinse out his bottle when I hear a choking sound, go back to the living room, Logan's in the process of throwing up, however he's kinda laying down so its not coming out. I go grab him, he spews EVERYWHERE!!! the couch, carpet, me, him and the bouncy seat got a whole new color scheme...he's finally smiling, so I sit him down, go start a bath and grab him, as I'm undressing him, he feels even warmer than usual...so I gave him a bath and then checked his temp...100.9! Definitely the highest fever this child has ever had and it sent me into a panic...calling mom at 6:30 in the morning, where she reassures me with shots, thats a lowgrade fever and just to give him more tylenol and keep him comfortable- and no more formula until his fever is gone...well, sure enough, he was back to his normal yet very clingy self in no time...and by the time 12:30 hit- he was ready for a nap and trust me so was I! Then Rachel calls- she wants to take me to lunch for my birthday...and honestly, I can't pass up free food- so I conjur up some energy and go....she takes me to applebees and we are eating and she goes and tells the waitress it's my birthday and I'm 21. I don't want them singing to me but wanted a drink- she checks my ID then proceeds to bring me a drink called Jamaican Paradise-mmmm. That's all I have to say about that drink! Went perfectly with my steak, potatoes and mixed veggies, and then my hot fudge brownie and vanilla ice cream:) Came home to both boys sitting on the couch looking desperate for attention from me...Jerry gets really nervous being left alone with Logan and Logan- well he knows jerry is nervous...so I soothe both of them, telling them I'm not leaving them again since we were all going to Mom and Dad's to celebrate my birthday...Well, then a bomb hits- Jerry had been up since 7am and had to work that night, so he had to go to sleep to ensure he wouldn't fall asleep at work- so Logan and I headed to moms where I had Potato soup and homemade ice cream cake waiting for me:) I had a great birthday and Logan got back to normal with his shots:)

Nearing his 4 month mark:)

I usually try to post every month with Logan's updates- however, he's hit two milestones before even being 3 1/2 months old! 1st one is he's sitting up now(with a little support) so we put him in the walker for the first time at moms house- and he likes it! 2nd milestone is my little piggy is on food now:) We started with bananas and now we are on sweet potatoes- which he took to pretty quickly. The first time we fed him, he ate a whole 5 ounce jar of bananas, now hes only eating half of the container at a time, which gives us two meals a container...which equals to 4 meals a pack- so for 98 cents a pack- not very bad:)
Also, we are slowly transitioning him to his crib...right now we are doing naps in there. We actually just started today, and he's been asleep for about an hour in the crib now. I was going to leave him in our room longer, however, when he stretches out, he is finger to toe on the bassinet. So, for his sake, I am getting him used to his room. Too many new things going on for me. My little baby doesn't want to be a baby anymore.

On my news- I am now walking 2-3 times a day with my friend Leah to try to take off some baby weight. We both found out we were pregnant a couple months apart, however, Leah gave birth to Madison 2 months early in September. Logan and Madison LOVE eachother, and madison has recently started kissing Logan whenever they see eachother...
I'm also helping Leah with her photography business...kinda tricky with babies, but we both have support!

Logan Enjoying his first bite of Bananas
Logan talking to his dinosaur on the walker(amazing it's lasted since mom bought this when we had Shelby for a week)

MRS JERRY WILKISON

Yes,
In November, I will be Mrs. Jerry Wilkison. We are leaning towards November 10th, which ironically is the day before our 3 year mark:) We are planning on having a very small ceremony with papa marrying us...Rachel is my maid of honor while Donnie(friend of ours) is Jerry's best man. Jerrys Grandmother, my parents, Gramma Carel and of course Logan will be the only attendants at the ceremony- (our compromise of a courthouse wedding) with a bbq party to follow a couple weeks after!!!! I cannot wait to marry Jerry even though in our minds we already are!

Sick Days

Well- it all started Thursday when Jerry came home with a headache and started throwing up- his was just a tension headache but anytime one of us gets sick now, I automatically try to determine what to do if Logan catches it. Thus, his first cold. Started up Wednesday night with a little cough, then Friday morning he was stuffy and coughing to the point he was choking. I made a dr appt and she told us what we had thought- he had a cold. However, 3 months old is too young for any medicine so he had to tough it out. He got over it in two days. NOW- he shared his cold with me. We all know that when I get a cold, it turns into a sinus infection.(I know I'm getting one now because my teeth hurt and my nose feels like someone threw a bunch of bricks at it) Yesterday was Logan's followup appointment, where she said all we needed to do now was watch for signs of an ear infection that sometimes follows a cold in babies and for me to get some rest and wash my hands and blah blah blah before I hold Logan so he doesn't get it again. I would be lying if I told you I didn't miss the days where if I was sick, I could just lay in bed and do nothing, but each blessing comes with a small sacrifice. I have to sacrifice my "bed-time" for Logan to eat, play, and talk all day every day! Jerry's a little helpful, but Logan has his routine and 99% of the time, I'm the one doing it- so MOMS DONT GET SICK DAYS!!!!

the baby carrier

Ever since Logan was born, if he saw me cleaning or cooking, he had to be held. Luckily, after a couple days of TRYING to just let him cry it out, I remembered Aunt Sara sending me the baby carrier she used with Gage. I strap him in it, but then he was facing me since he couldn't hold his head up, only time he would be ok with it was when he wanted to sleep though....fast forward to yesterday- he didn't want to be put down AT ALL!!! I was trying to clean up some and Jerry was talking to our maintenance guy here at our apt complex, so I pull this "baby harness" as I call it out of the drawer and try this position where he's facing out now that he can properly hold his head up, and he smiles and talks and just stares! However, as soon as Jerry sees it, he wants to try it(which until now, he thought I was stupid for using it) so we readjust everything to fit him, and besides how Logan looks in the picture, he was really happy when daddy was holding him. Jerry bounced a little and he started laughing which is a new thing for Logan. I wish I had gotten it on video, but there will be more chances!

Logan's First Swim!!!

As you know, days in Florida are getting hotter. Logan just reached the 3 month mark, so I've eased up a little on what I will do with him. We went to Sams Club with our friends Leah and Donnie who have a 7 month old named Madison...after doing some shopping, we agreed that as hot as it is outside, we would all go to Keystone Beach, however after getting everyone suited up, fed, and in the car, we sadly found out that the little beach in Keystone Heights, was in fact, empty....there hasn't been any rain in a while so all our lakes are pretty muddy and dry. So, we decided to go to Leah's grandmother's house to her pool and lounge around for a little bit...hence LOGAN'S FIRST POOL!!!! He wasn't happy at first because it was SOOO cold, but once he got used to it, he was kicking and moving his arms and smiling until we had him so worn out he couldn't keep his eyes open! So Jerry and I have decided that we will do more swimming trips, possibly get a little pool when he's able to sit himself up without any support or help from us and just let him go! Pics will follow soon, Leah was the only one who took pictures!!!

Logan's First Easter Basket

Daddy and Logan

Logan With his Suckers

Grandma, Logan and his Easter Basket

Logan with his Egg

What kind of mother would I be if I didn't give my son his first Easter Basket? LOL....especially with food that mommy and daddy can eat for him! All dressed up, we went to Grandma and PawPaws house for Easter dinner, which was AMAZING, but what meal doesn't taste amazing when my mom' makes it? The day was spent just having fun and relaxing, Logan did try a warhead for the first time...Made an awful face(SOUR!!!) his daddy did it, not me! Mom was mad until she saw Logans face and then we all wished we had taken a picture!

2 months:)

Well, we've reached the 2 month mark! Logan weighs in at 12 pounds 15 ounces and 24 1/2 inches long! one of the biggest his pediatrician has seen in a while! of course, when we went he had to get shots...4 of them!!! He didn't like it at all. Screamed when he got them until I picked him up. Fell right asleep on the car ride home and then a few hours later got a fever, diarrhea and just cried and cried and cried...then today he was constipated. Very odd for this boy to not poop 2-3 times a day. he was fussy, so aunt rachel tried the leg movements again and what do you know? He decided to poop all over:) but then a mommy disaster! There were no diapers in the diaper bag! So I drove to my house really quick(at moms a whole 5 minutes away!) grabbed a pack of diapers and sped the way home, changed him and then was happy baby until he passed out!
this kid is very alert and just all smiles 99 percent of the time. Always observing and talking to you and just wants to watch! LOL
we've up'd his cereal to 1 1/2 tablespoons in the breakfast and bedtime bottle and so far seems to be working! Last night he went to sleep around 7:30 pm- which I thought would be just a quick nap, turns out he slept til 2, ate, went back to sleep around 5:30, ate again and then slept until 9am! this is a very rare treat and even though I didn't sleep much(still used to getting up every 2-3 hours) I was so happy when he woke up and just smiled, no crying or fussing, just smiling at me and daddy:) haven't seen that in a few weeks and that makes me happy that he's finally getting back to normal!

6 Weeks Old

Well, We've survived our first month:) He's now 6 weeks old, taking less naps during the day, longer sleep at night and eating cereal with his breakfast and bedtime bottle! A lot of things have changed in the past two weeks besides what I have just wrote. Our room mates moved with no notice, so we were scrambling to find a place to live with not being able to afford rent on our own. Luckily, mom and dad opened up their doors and let us three move in, where I found out via newspaper, that the apartments that Jon and Rachel are living in, are doing a move-in special!!!! I acted upon it quickly(with Jerry's OK) and we are currently finishing up everything we need to do in order to get the apartment! If we hand her money by friday, we will be the owners of our very first place BY OURSELVES! Same as Jon and Rachel's apartment- it's a 2/1.5, and it is PERFECT for us, not to mention, we will save money on gas with them living literally right across the path from us and mom and dad living not even 5 minutes away!
On other news, I'm having my Pre-Op and Post-Delivery appointments tomorrow and surgery friday morning...wouldn't you know I don't plan strategically? Jerry's Stepmom Debbie and his brothers Matt, Sebastian and Chris will be down all weekend to finally meet Logan! We figure I will be ok because I'm only gonna be out of it for about 24 hours. Only sucky thing about getting this stupid gall bladder out is I'm not able to take care of Logan for those 24-36 hours after my surgery. I know he's in good hands though. He'll be spending the night with Grandma and Grandpa..or better yet...sleeping in their room! Hopefully they(mom) still has her alertness when she's sleeping...Logan still tends to wake up in the middle of the night! Sometimes, his mornings start at 4 am:) This will be funny to watch...lol

1 month:)

My little Logan is one month old:) Time's flying by so fast and it's hard to take pictures of everything.
This is the most updated picture I have of him...about 3 weeks 4 days. My mom was babysitting him for me while I took care of some things and Logan was just smiling and cooing at her. I'm so happy that she is able to get the pictures that I can't:) He looks so much like Jerry it isn't funny.
Tuesday we had to do the worst thing possible to Logan (he'll thank us later) and got him circumcised. I've never felt so bad in my life but like I said, he'll thank us for it later. So far he's still sleeping somewhat through the night, depending on when his late nap is. He usually wakes up around 8 or 9, eats, hangs out and then goes back to sleep around noon or 1, wakes up around 3 or 4 and then is up until anywhere between 6-11. He's sleeping right now and looks so peaceful. All I had to do was take him to walmart...lol
Now, for an update on mommy and daddy....
Daddy- Jerry's doing good. He's a great dad and is adjusting well to having a baby...like all fathers, he doesn't ever hear him crying when he's home at night..lol. He's still working midnights and right before we had Logan, he asked how does Kate and Bert do it- especially with four kids on a state salary? Faith, trust, love, and budgeting really well is how they survive.
We only have Logan and sometimes it seems like ends wont meet but we always do somehow:)
Mommy- I've been doing good...A couple weeks ago I had really bad stomach and back pain, but wrote it off and took some tylenol. Well last night, I had the same abdominal pain and it was so intense that I was having trouble breathing and dry heaving- even though I had food in my system. finally I decided to try a shower to see if that would work but I just couldn't stand up anymore and just pretty much got into the fetal position in the tub- Jerry came in and was kind of alarmed but we both just figured something I ate. It eased up enough that I could stand up and get out of the shower, but I was weak in the knees. Eventually, I decided to go to the emergency room. Jerry dropped me off- which sounds bad, but we had left Logan with his Granny and she can barely pick him up so we made the mutual decision that it'd be better for him to be with Logan than with me...I'm a big girl. lol... but then I got my mom to come be with me.
Anyways, they hooked me up to an iv, took a urine sample and found out my liver enzymes were up. They sent me for an ultrasound on my liver and gallbladder and found out that I have multiple gallstones...GREAT!!! all i could think about was the fact that I have a 1 month old baby at home who needs me,  I can't be falling apart already. lol...well they said that my gallbladder wasn't inflamed or irritated so it wasn't a really serious matter. I have a drs appointment tomorrow to see what needs to be done considering I just had a baby a month ago. Then we call and find out what my obgyn would say about all this.
Then on top of all this- I had to get rid of Cryxis yesterday. My friend Leah has a sister that works at a vets office and she found 3 homes that he could live in and they would take over the medical expenses. I was promised pictures and updates on my furry baby so I'm not too sad about it. He deserves this because I just didn't have the time to take care of him and it wasn't fair to him. He'll be really happy in the home he's going to, I've met the lady and she fell in love with him as soon as she met him:)
So to sum things up, I've been stretched farther than I ever thought I could be, but like mom said last night when I was worrying about everything on my plate already- "If God brings you to it, He'll bring you through it." I just really have to rely on Jerry and my faith right now as we endure these "great" times....

Loving Life As A Mommy:)

Logan is almost 3 weeks old:) I can't believe time has gone by that fast! He's smiling alot more and now makes cooing sounds when we talk to him...He went to the doctor last week and was 8pds 3 ounces. First trip to doctor he was 7pds 15 ounces so we are happy! He's eating 4-6 ounces of formula each feeding which is every 3-4 hours. He's also sometimes sleeping through the night depending on what time his bedtime feeding is. He's a very quiet baby-only time he cries is when we are changing his clothes- he doesn't like to be naked. I'm so happy to be a mom now. I love waking up every 3-4 hours and seeing him, even if he's crying for me to make a bottle. I love the smiles I get even if it's at 2am.
Tuesday is Valentines Day- Jerry and I are leaving Logan for the first time to go out to dinner. Granted we are leaving him with my mom and dad- who I know can take care of him and I won't have to worry more than I already will be...lol. This will be the first time I've ever left Logan for more than 30 minutes. It's gonna be rough for me because I spend 24 hours a day with him- he never really leaves my side and I'm gonna be roughly 30 miles away from him for a few hours:/ guess we will see how that goes...lol

HE'S HERE!!!!!

MEET LOGAN ALEXANDER WILKISON:) January 25th 2012- 8 pounds 2 ounces and 20 inches long!

Fast forward to today:) He'll be two weeks old on Wednesday! That went by fast! Picture is of him at 1 week and he's already looking different than that. Definitely looks like Jerry though I do come out in him some. Mostly his fussiness! Do what he wants when he wants you to and you'll be just fine. He sleeps pretty much all the time. Eats and Poops pretty well...lol. He's already smiling and just today started making noises when we were "talking" He definitely knows who his mommy and daddy are and is in love with Grandma and Grandpa! But I have to say the highlight of my days was when JR met his cousin for the first time. He helped me give Logan a bath and change his diaper! He wouldn't leave my side if I had Logan and is just happy to have a new boy to play with!

40 weeks- due date

well, its my due date but no baby yet...lol. There's a reason he hasn't made his appearance yet and if I knew what it was, I probably wouldn't be so fussy, cranky, uncomfortable, irritable or as bitchy as i have been these past 3 days. Contractions have been off and on and I have lost my mucus plug-(gross) however, I am ready for the pregnancy phase to be over and parenthood to REALLY begin! Guess all we can do is wait.

39 weeks

Technically I don't hit the 39 week mark until tomorrow...however it doesn't really matter when I post the blog, as long as I post it so Gramma has something to read:) LOL.... Went to the Dr yesterday, checked everything and I'm 60 percent effaced and 2cm dilated. His heart rate was back in the 160s, but that could be the coke I pretty much downed before the appointment! I guess the dilation can answer why I've started having some contractions here and there...This morning they started up again, however stopped, but Jerry was in front of me when a really good one happened. I think my knuckles were turning white because i just held on to the counter and looked like I was about to cry. All he asked was is the baby coming? I said i don't know yet...He's not- Just decided to give mommy a taste of what was to come I guess. lol....I can handle most pain as long as I keep my mouth shut. If I start talking, something bad will come out- which it won't be me, it'll be the pain talking, but I don't want to end up hurting Jerry's feelings or something so I just keep my mouth shut when I start feeling any pain. Also learned yesterday on the way back from the drs, Logan is a metallica fan. Jerry had it on loud with bass going and Logan just started kicking and rolling to the music. I just stared at Jerry, because he NEVER does that when I have country music going. He likes the oldies and some of the hip hop(rap) I play but definitely not country:(

38 Weeks

We have 2 weeks left:) I'm getting excited! Went to the Doctor Friday- heart rate was in 120s-130s but he was sleeping. He's in the PERFECT birthing position....head first and nose down:) all we do is wait now...which it's a full moon tonight/tomorrow so maybe he'll make an appearance! We did get ultrasound pictures of him but they werent very good because his back was to us, however she did manage to get what she thinks is his "boy parts" which if they are....oh boy is daddy happy...lol. Right now we are just putting the finishing touches on Logan's room and then that's all set! Now, I am just trying to figure out how to put the car seat in the car without it moving a lot...For some reason, I cannot figure a rear-facing carseat out! Lol----guess we will find out.

37 weeks

Yup- 37 weeks! Meaning I'm considered full-term and could deliver safely:) Now comes the waiting game. Dr. Appt Thursday went well- heartbeat was still in 160's, blood pressure is still low but stable, and he's still head down! I measured 36 centimeters which was right on target! However, I did test positive for Strep B, which is a bacterial infection found in 25% of women- I am considered a carrier and could possibly pass it down to my child during labor and delivery. All it means is that I would have to take antibiotics during labor and it greatly reduces the chances of Logan getting sick from strep b. I'm not too concerned about it because as soon as I found out I had it, a few people came up and said they had it and it's not really that big of a deal as long as you treat it during labor:) I will have to stay in the hospital for two days(that's the incubation time for logan to get sick from it) and if everything checks out, we can go home! We start going weekly to the doctor until I deliver and Friday she is doing a sonogram:) so we get pictures of him one last time in the womb before we see him in person! I can't wait:)
The nursery is almost finished! I have the crib and bassinet set up and ready! Mom and Dad put the bassinet together- that was funny cause it's been 16 years since they put one together and now they were fussing because something didn't go somewhere right- funniest was Dad and Jerry putting the crib together. Mom and I stayed in the dining room cuz there wasn't alot of room to stand around in there, but it was too silent in there so we went to snoop thinking dad had killed jerry or something.lol... well, they were both fine and dad was making Jerry do most of the work because we have the crib that goes from crib to toddler to full and he needed to know how to redo it, not dad:) then mom and I put the sheets and stuff on the crib while Jerry's telling me things- mom finally explained to him the fathers role is to SHUT UP! The nursery is more for mom anyway:) 3 more weeks and then we are there!!!!
